1 Striving to always provide you the latest and greatest workout equipment, over the next few months we’ll be replacing all cardio equipment and select strength training equipment. Just last week two new StairMasters were installed, and when you come into the Fitness Center on Monday, Oct. 9, you’ll be able to work out on new FreeMotion® weight equipment. We will keep you posted as new equipment arrives.

2 Continue your quest to good health with our annual Cooperthon challenge, Oct. 2-Nov. 5, and accumulate more minutes of exercise than last year. The goal is 1,000 minutes to earn a prize and 2,500 minutes for elite participant status. Download the tracking log or pick one up at the Service Desk.

5 Join Drs. Kenneth and Tyler Cooper at The Cooper Institute’s Legacy Award Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 2. The evening will include a tour of Globe Life Park in Arlington—the home of the Texas Rangers baseball team—dinner and special guest speaker George Brett, a former Kansas City Royals third baseman and designated hitter. Millie and Angie Cooper are honored to serve as the co-chairs for the 16th annual Celebration of Reading on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. The event raises money to help support local family literacy programs of the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy serving more than 700 students and families in DFW. Tickets are available.

In the spirit of thanksgiving and giving back, Cooper Aerobics is hosting a Dallas Celebration of Reading Book Drive, Oct. 25-Nov. 27. We’ll collect new children’s books—hard and soft back; kindergarten through sixth grade reading level—to be donated to Dallas ISD. Look for the collection box in the CFC lobby.

Needing some extra core and/or flexibility training? Offered multiple times throughout the day, our Core Conditioning and Myofascial Release Classes are a beneficial add-on to any workout. They’re each just 15 minutes long. By demand, we’ve added more class times—Core Conditioning, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Myofascial Release, 2:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. For class descriptions and schedule, download the flyer.

Previous work experience prior to coming to Cooper: I was a fitness specialist and personal trainer at Chesapeake Energy’s corporate fitness center in Oklahoma City.

What is your favorite form of physical activity? Strength training, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and running.

What is your favorite family tradition? I watch football every Sunday with my dad and brother, and they've taught me everything from player stats to how to talk football. We're huge Ravens fans and went to the 2013 Super Bowl the year they won.
