Longtime member Betty Swenson celebrated her 92nd birthday in March! A regular participant in the Classics Pilates class, Betty and friends commemorated another year of being active by gathering at Cedars after class for cake and coffee.
Exercise has really paid off for Cooper Fitness Center member Cindy Bedford as she earned nearly 16,000 MEPs during the Wrap It Up challenge in December! In March, Cindy redeemed her points for our newest My Cooper Rewards perk, an entree and beverage at Cedars Woodfire Grill.
On March 29, new members enjoyed a social mixer event complete with Cooper Quest bingo, Cooper trivia (with prizes!) and a cooking demo by Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Cindy Kleckner. In January, Jeff and Claire Moore and their two sons, Daniel and Mason, participated in Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's 11th annual Big D Climb. They conquered the challenge of climbing to the top of the Bank of America building—70 floors—in support of two family friends who are survivors of Adult Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Members of our Cooper Fitness Center management team attended the 2019 IHRSA (International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association) Conference in San Diego March 13-16. Thousands of attendees representing 86 countries learned about the latest fitness industry news, trends and education. In late February, our new Move.Laugh.Connect. (MLC) program launched. To address physical, emotional and social dimensions in a group setting, participants experience a variety of exercises, embrace humor and actively engage with fellow classmates in a safe, relaxing environment.
