Our own Orville Rogers received another award, not for running a race, but rather for his commitment to living a healthy lifestyle. Dallas Area Parkinsonism Society (DAPS) honored Orville on May 14 at the society’s annual awards event and presented him with the 2018 Kenneth H. Cooper Lifetime Achievement Award.
On May 8, Marni Kerner's Tuesday Indoor Cycle Class collectively completed their 4,500-mile challenge.
In celebration of National Pilates Month in May, we hosted a Pilates Open House on May 8. Members and guests were introduced to the Pilates Studio equipment, met our Pilates instructors and won raffle prizes from The Coop and Cooper Spa. See photos.

On May 9, members joined Cooper Spa General Manager Lisa Boyle for a skin protection lecture before heading to the pool for a swim clinic with Swim Pro Marni Kerner.
We welcome our summer interns, Sarah Slover, studying public health at Baylor University, Erin Sporkin, studying public health at Indiana University, and Grace Leister, studying sports medicine at Pepperdine University.
Meridan Zerner, MS, RDN, CSSD, LD, Cooper Clinic Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and CFC Group Exercise Instructor, (right) received the 2018 SCAN Excellence in Practice Award from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This is one of the highest awards given to a registered dietitian nutritionist in the Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition (SCAN) Practice Group. Meridan accepted the award at the SCAN Symposium on May 5 in Keystone, Colorado.
